Equifax Breach: Leading the way in breaking news, the credit reporting company made headlines after announcing that they had suffered a major breach that could impact up to 200,000 people in the United States.   2. Nationwide Insurance Company receives a bill: After a lawsuit brought forward by 32 states claiming personal information was compromised in a data breach, Nationwide agreed to pay a $5.5 million settlement.
  3. Taxpayer Ransomware Email Scam: An email containing logos from both the IRS and FBI prompted recipients to download a questionnaire, which contains the ransomware. The goal of the ransomware scam is to take your computer data hostage.
