For the past 35 years, Center for Computer Resources, CCR, has been providing dedicated and reliable IT servicing, serving clients throughout various cities in the state of Michigan. On Saturday June 18, they exchanged their IT thinking caps for construction hats while volunteering.

“I’ve always wanted to volunteer, so my wife and I did it one year, and we kept doing it,” said Michael Mapes, who works as a member of the Project Team Lead at CCR. “We were happy that we were able to involve an entire team of people this time around to help out.”

Together, the CCR team took part in their newest community activity, volunteering for the Michigan Habitat for Humanity. They spent the morning and afternoon doing indoor and outdoor home renovations including painting, tree stump removal and gardening.

“This was a very satisfying endeavor and great team building experience,” said Thomas Glant, who is a part of the Project Team Lead at CCR. “Knowing that our work would benefit someone in need, everyone involved took great pride in the tasks assigned to them and reaffirmed the work ethic that I see every day at CCR.”

Habitat for Humanity Michigan, HFHM, was founded in 1993 in Lansing to help encourage the building of simple, affordable and stable homes for those in need. Today, they have expanded to have 65 Habitat affiliates throughout various parts of Michigan.

“We are determined to show our appreciation not only to our clients, but to our surrounding communities by spending time volunteering and helping those who are in need,” said Curtis Hicks II, President and CEO of CCR. “We are truly grateful to have had the opportunity to join forces with the Michigan Habitat for Humanity and spend our time giving back in any way that we can.”
