Windows 7 End of Support

By: Marina Petz, Marketing & Social Media Coordinator

In the words of the classic rock-band, Queen, another one bites the dust. Yes, I’m sure you’ve heard by now that Windows 7 is going away, but what does that mean for your business? How will it impact you? Are you prepared to upgrade?

Just as we did last month for End of Support for Windows Server 2008, we’ll cover all the things you need to know before the End of Support deadline.

  • Speaking of the deadline, when does the End of Support for Windows 7 happen? January 14th, 2020.
  • What happens after January 14th, 2020? Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support PCs running Windows 7.
  • What happens if you keep using Windows 7? You are putting your PC at risk. While Windows will continue to operate, you will no longer receive security and features updates.
  • Does that put your business at risk? The answer is yes. Without Microsoft’s patches and security updates, your business could be exposed to security risks such as malware.

What are the next steps? If you have a machine, or machines, running Windows 7 it’s time to get serious about making a change.
